Simon Horton Stoneware Espresso Pot, Tenmoku

A finely thrown small stoneware beaker, perfect for serving smaller portions of tea or espresso, hand thrown by Simon Horton in his South Oxfordshire studio and reduction fired in a small gas kiln of his own making. With a homemade tenmoku glaze, developed through many hours of experimentation, producing a beautiful glossy black glaze. With an admiration for pots quiet, understated and modest, Simon finds inspiration from medieval slipware to early Chinese and Korean pottery and feeds this back into his work. Height of 6cm, with a maximum diameter of 7cm, approximately.
