Joseph Bull Stoneware Candle Holder, Ash & Salt Glaze

A stoneware candleholder, hand-thrown in a wide dish form by Joseph Bull in Wootton, Oxfordshire, just a few miles from the store. Glazed with a thin layer of natural ash glaze, and fired in a salt kiln. Firing in a salt kiln creates a salt glaze, the result of the combination of the firing environment and the introduction of salt into the kiln during the firing, creating a distinctive glaze style. Fits our hand-dipped dinner and stubby candles. Measures approximately 11cm in diameter.
