A beautiful, stoneware oil burner, with ceramic ball wick holder, for a sustained and atmospheric candle-like flame, great for dinner table use, or wherever you'd like to create a calm atmosphere. With a beautiful toasted finish to the exterior created by wood firing and a unique glazed collar (each one is different), this burner is wheel-thrown and finished in the Cotswolds village of St Chloe by Tom Knowles Jackson. A potter from a young age (trained by Steve Sheridan as a schoolboy and strongly influenced by local potter Richard Batterham), Knowles Jackson returned to ceramics following careers in the army and business, and now creates his own standard range of high fired stoneware. Using a small range of glazes derived from iron, copper and wood ash, Knowles Jackson fires his pieces in a self-built down-draught wood fired kiln. Measures approximately 9cm diameter x 10cm tall. Suitable for use with a good indoor lamp oil, or citronella lamp oil (to keep the midges away, with a pleasant citrus scent). It's best to keep the wick trimmed short, for the best burning experience.
