The glass jars are suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher, but metal parts can and should be removed before doing so — these should be hand—washed only to prevent rust and increase longevity. These jars are suitable for freezing, but shock temperature changes must be avoided. Additionally, when freezing liquids the jars must not be over filled, and must taper outwards at the top — liquids expand as they freeze, and a taper allows room to do so without cracking the jar.
