Krumpholz billhook or clearing hook

A weighty billhook or clearing hook, weighing 600g, with a broad and solid, sharpened blade, this billhook is forged using premium German steel and forging techniques and has a shaped ash handle to ensure a good grip. Somewhere between a knife and an axe, the billhook is used for cutting woody plants such as saplings and small branches, for hedging and for snedding (stripping the side shoots from a branch). Handcrafted in the Krumpholz family-run forge in Germany who have been making high quality gardening tools since 1799.
