Koh-I-Noor Clutch Pencil Refill Leads, 5.6 x 120mm, 'Magic'

Made by Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth, this is a box containing 6 unique multicoloured 'magic' leads for the Koh I Noor Mechanical Clutch Pencil — which produce a multi-coloured line as you draw. During the Napoleonic wars a continental shortage of high quality Cumbrian graphite pushed Joseph Hardtmuth (who went on to found the Koh-I-Noor company) to develop a pencil lead made from powdered graphite mixed with clay and in so doing created the very first modern pencil. Today the the company he founded maintains his legacy in the production of traditional and mechanical pencils, in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. 5.6mm thick, 120mm long.
