Elddon Scandinavian Firelighting Tin

A classic ‘elddon’ (tinder-box) natural fire-lighting kit in a waterproof tin, from the forests of Swedish Lapland. A handy little tin containing everything you need to start a fire in the traditional way, containing a hand-forged fire striker steel, a couple of pieces of flint, some amadou tinder (made by treating and drying the fungus Fomes fomentarius) and prized since ancient times for its nourishment of fire (even being found on the Hauslabjoch mummy), some jute twine, and charcloth — highly flammable linen.
