Japanese Moku Folding Saw

Japanese Moku Folding Saw
£36.00
Ex Tax: £30.00
A small folding saw, made in Sanjo, Japan, for fine pruning jobs in the garden, with specially shaped beechwood handle and a simple locking device to keep the blade in place. Ibara-me teeth are angled to cut both along and across the grain, giving a very fast, efficient action. Made with SK5 steel, with a beech handle. Japanese pruning saws cut on the pull stroke, not the push, which means the blade is under less pressure when cutting, and uses less energy, resulting in a far cleaner, faster cut. By electing to purchase this item you are confirming that you are over the age of 18, and that we may if in any doubt contact you prior to dispatch in order to verify this.

Care Advice

Hand wash and dry well with a soft cloth immediately after use. Ensure the knife is never left sitting in wet conditions. High quality stainless steel knives will often include a high-carbon element, to increase performance. These kind of stainless steels are not 100% rust proof, and will require careful handling. A sharp knife is a safe knife — use a honing rod to keep a fine edge, and sharpen with a stone when necessary. Treat the wooden handle with a mineral oil when necessary to condition the wood and prevent warping and cracking.
