A round carpenters Japanese maple mallet, from Asano Mokkousho, of Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture,Japan. Used for light chiselling work and close and more delicate joinery work such as carefully tapping home pegs during the assembly or disassembly of kumiki joints. The head measures 48mm x 130mm and the oak handle approximately 330mm long.

Care Advice

When not in use, store in a dry environment. Treat with a beeswax furniture polish or mineral oil conditioner to keep the wood from drying out and prevent warping or splitting.
