A handmade, non-locking or fixed ferrule, stainless steel pocket knife with a traditional clog-shaped handle made from finished boxwood with wood burned details. The blade measures 7cm in length whilst the handle measures 9cm. Hand wash only. Coutellerie Nontronnaise, or Nontron, bears the name of the village it was founded in the 13th century. Since before the Middle Ages, Gallic people who settled near the waters of the Bandiat River began making the first true French knives. In 1653, Guillaume Legrand, a master cutler, invented the turning ferrule, an innovation that Nontron have continued to use over the centuries. Each piece of cutlery is made by craftsmen trained on the techniques of sawing, shaping, and assembling used by their ancestral forebears making true, heritage pieces that have been cherished for centuries.
