Jack Welbourne Small Jug, Ash

A small hand-thrown jug with a rounded triangular base in a matte green ash glaze, perfect for serving milk at the table, or even holding a little floral sprig. Made in Cardiff by studio potter Jack Welbourne and glazed in hand-mixed and applied glazes. After training in Cardiff and Gothenburg, Sweden, Welbourne set up his studio where he produces gas-fired wheel-thrown stoneware in red stoneware clay mined in Cornwall, using hand-mixed glazes made using potash, chalk, iron oxide and flint. 12cm width including the handle, 8,5cm diameter and 12cm tall, approximately.
