Japanese Akebia Vine Hanging Basket

A lovely hanging basket woven from akebia vine  and wild grape vine in Kaminoyama City, Japan by Nao Ochiai, who has been weaving with akebia fibre in her signature ‘Midare-ami’ pattern (shape of snow) for over two decades. Akebia is a vine which grows along the ground and makes very strong, long-lasting baskets. The family annually collect wild akebi vines in the nearby mountains. Perfect for keeping small items in easy-to-reach places. Can hang from a nail in the wall or a hook.  22cm wide, 28cm high, 6cm deep.
