Ecuelle conique 0.25l

A small stoneware straight-sided bowl, measuring 10 x 6cm, finished internally in a natural clear glaze, with a traditional brown border to the exterior rim, and the rest of the exterior surface unglazed.  Hand made in the northern Loire valley by Poterie Digoin, founded in 1875 in an area rich in clay and silt mineral deposits, but as importantly at a major junction in the French canal network, whose distribution allowed the nascent pottery to quickly establish itself at the heart of the French kitchen. 0.25 litre capacity.
