Hand smithied ‘Verdugo’ scissor shears from Spain - traditionally used on sheep, these make ideal light topiary or flower shears. Without an overtightened pivot these designed to be used quickly giving a false impression of looseness but tested on paper they are deceptively effective. From the workshops of Cuchillería Pallarès the one surviving knife and tool maker in a town once dotted with small manufacturers. Now with a workforce of 15 the management still split their time between administrative necessity and manual craft production.
