Okatsune Large Garden Scissors, Uekibasami

General purpose gardening scissors from Okatsune, Japan, used for pine pruning and thinning evergreens. Remarkably strong, with 57mm blades of carbon steel, yet delicate and accurate. Cut diagonally across branches (not straight across). Try holding with index finger outside the handle for better control. Measuring 212 x 116 x 20mm, with 57mm blades, these are made in Onomichi, Japan, from Carbon Steel. Carbon steel keeps a great edge, but will, stain through regular use and is liable to rust if left wet. After use, and once dry, wipe over with Camellia oil and store in a dry place.
