Spanish lightweight serrated sickle

A kind of straight grass hook with a fine serrated blade. Right-handed as the blade is sharpened on only one side. From the workshops of Cuchillería Pallarès the one surviving knife and tool maker in a town once dotted with small manufacturers. Founded in 1917 by brothers Lluís and Carles Pallarès Canal they are now a third generation family company with a workforce of 15 whose owners and management still split their time between administrative necessity and manual craft production. Total length (tip to toe) 40cm.
