Pallares Busa Folding Knife, Holm Oak, Carbon

A classic Spanish ‘goat-legged’ folding pocket knife with pointed, leaf shaped blade in carbon (rustable) steel. Hand made in Catalonia by Cuchillería Pallarès, the one surviving knife maker in a town once dotted with manufacturers. Blade length about 8cm. Closed length 10cm. Carbon steel is extremely hard, thereby guaranteeing excellent cutting quality, good wear resistance and easy regrinding. Carbon can corrode easily, so it is advised that users avoid damp locations and wipe and grease the blade after use.

This blade is made from carbon steel, which keeps a better edge than stainless, but will develop rust spots if left wet or kept damp and will naturally discolour in use — dry after use and oil regularly to keep it in good condition.
