Arthur Wright & Son Farmer's Sheepfoot Knife

A Farmer's sheepfoot utility knife with a straight edge, similar to a lambfoot, but as it’s name might suggest with a deeper more square ended blade and which evolved as a hardwearing general purpose field knife. Handmade in Sheffield with brass linings, nickel bolsters, and walnut scales around a carbon steel blade by the company of A Wright & Sons cutlers and component suppliers who since 1947 have sought to maintain and revive the traditional skills and forms of this noble city.

This blade is made from carbon steel, which keeps a better edge than stainless, but will develop rust spots if left wet or kept damp and will naturally discolour in use — dry after use and oil regularly to keep it in good condition.
