Green Oak Door Stop, Small

Made in Oxfordshire from off-cuts discarded by a local framing carpenter by Timmy Toomey — once described by Enzo Mari as ‘a designer of Calvinist objects’. The pegged handles, split and individually hand-shaped using a draw knife, are those used to draw and fasten the mortise and tenons of timber framed buildings. Each doorstop is distinct in size and appearance. Green oak is susceptible to splitting and distortion as it dries out, contributing to the uniqueness of each item.
