Finnish Rice Straw Carpet Broom, Käsihuisku

Finnish Rice Straw Carpet Broom, Käsihuisku
£18.50
Ex Tax: £15.42
Perhaps one of the most ancient of brush designs, and one which has been slowly perfected through millennia of binding, weaving, and tying. Made only of rice straw (sorghum) wound with red twine on the body, and wire on the neck, secured to a small pin, creating a comfortably ergonomic handle made from very tightly pressed straw, the brush possesses a simplicity and ingenuity of construction that puts many a modernist classic to shame. Handmade by the visually impaired craftspeople of a Vantaa based Finnish cooperative. About 52cm long and 20cm wide.
