An angular dish with flared, straight sides, with a snugly fitting lid, made from Japanese earthenware and glazed in a soft milky white. Great for serving miso soup and keeping it warm, and can also be used for storing dry foodstuffs like salt flakes or spices, or trinkets elsewhere in the house. Made in Aichi Prefecture in Japan by Marumitsu Poterie, established in 1950, who create table and kitchenwares embracing both traditional and modern ceramic techniques, using a diverse range of natural materials (porcelain, stoneware, earthenware and open-fire resistant earthenware). Their collection of tableware and donabes are made from natural clay excavated from the Japanese mountains, shaped and glazed by hand, with dipped or hand-brushed glazes. Measures 127mm in diameter and 53mm high, with a capacity of 210cc. Microwave and dishwasher safe, but not oven safe.
