A reusable coffee filter for drip machines or pour-over coffee, woven of 100% linen in Sweden by Växbo Lin. Boil before first use, and every so often if needed, with the addition of a little bicarbonate of soda — rinsing under the tap and hanging to dry after each use generally constitute sufficient care for these filters. When the time comes for a replacement, these filters are best disposed of in the compost, and are completely biodegradable. Växbo Lin represents a recent renewal of Sweden’s once strong textile industry in a locale historically known for its linen cultivation and processing. With guidance from the local mothers and grandmothers who worked in the original scutching factories of the 1950’s, Växbo Lin opened its doors in 1990 to allow linen production to flourish in Trolldalen once more.
