A traditional, Japanese made Tenugui — a textile used for wrapping bento boxes, bottles, or for use as a hand, or decorative towel. The Tenugui is highly absorbent, and dries quickly (enjoyed by sportspeople for its sweat-wicking abilities when used as a headband). The long edges of the fabric are finished with a selvage, whilst the shorter ends are left unhemmed, allowing a natural fray to occur over time. Komon translated to ‘little patterns’ have been enjoyed on the textile for over 100 years, often with traditional nature motifs. The hand dying process allows dye to penetrate both sides of the fabric, which does not become stiff over time — and actually softens similarly to a high-quality denim. Measures 33 x 90cm. Made from 100% cotton. Made in Japan. Hand wash and do not leave lying in water, as the dye is subject to migrate when wet.
