A pair of fully nickel-plated carbon steel tailor’s shears for the cutting of heavier weight fabrics or several layers at a time. In a classic side-bent model, made for cutting accurately on a tabletop – the side-bent shape allows the scissors to lie as flat as possible against the tabletop, minimising inaccuracies. These tailor’s shears have been hand sharpened by skilled craftsman to a knife edge. Manufactured with an adjustable nut and bolt pivot screw for easy cleaning and fine-tuned precision.
Made in Italy by Gruffé Cutlery Associates, an independent association of scissor and medical instrument manufacturers based in Como, north of Milan. Founded in 1961, Gruffé have been working closely with makers local to the Como area, enhancing consistency and quality within the art of drop-forged blades and instruments.
Avoid moisture, as these scissors can tarnish or rust if exposed. It is recommended that these scissors are stored in a dry place, and oiled occasionally if necessary. These scissors measure 20cm, with a blade length of just over 9cm.
