Washi Paper Handkerchief or Sports-Cloth, Beige

A thick, soft handkerchief, loop-woven on one side, used in Japan to mop one's brow during humid summer days or when exercising. Woven in Japan from a blend of cotton and a unique fabric composed entirely of paper — Sasawashi yarns are made from twisted strips of paper, the composition of which is part washi, and part kumazasa. The wider the strip the thicker the yarn, and once they have been spun they can be woven or knitted into products with with all the benefits of this new fabric — including high water and oil absorbency, natural antibacterial and deodorant power from the added Kumazasa, and a washing durability on par with Cotton. Gauze: 50% Sasawashi, 50% Cotton, Pile: 100% Cotton. Machine washable, though a net is recommended. Measures 25cm by 25cm.
