A pleasantly round, small sized lidded storage jar with an unglazed exterior and glazed interior. Perfect for storing tea, coffee, spices and more. The exterior is left raw, allowing the natural texture of the stoneware clay used to exhibit a beautiful toasted colour which is formed during the firing process. The inside is glazed with Shino — a glaze high in iron, typically made from feldspar that mottles from a milky white to a deep orangey red and brown. Hand thrown by Simon Horton and reduction fired in South Oxfordshire in a small gas kiln of his own making. With an admiration for pots quiet, understated and modest, Simon finds inspiration from medieval slipware to early Chinese and Korean pottery and feeds this back into his work. The mouth diameter of the pot measures about 7.5cm, with a total height of approximately 10cm — though it is to be noted that the hand-thrown nature of this product may allow for some variation.
