Kiridashi Cherry Wood Craft Knife

Kiridashi Cherry Wood Craft Knife
£21.00
Ex Tax: £17.50

A short single bevelled Kiridashi, with a cherry wood handle and sheath. The Kiridashi has a long history in Japan, renowned as an essential and versatile craft knife, and is a must have in any toolkit, artisan or amateur. The two layered stainless blade ensures longevity and rust-resistance, and its single bevel makes for a razor sharp edge. While traditionally the Kiridashi would have been used for carving, and sharpening bamboo, it’s versatility has made it suitable for leatherwork, pencil sharpening and papercraft as well. Expertly crafted in Seki, Japan. 19cm total length with sheath, 7.5cm blade with 5cm edge.

By purchasing this item you are confirming that you are over the age of 18, and that we may contact you prior to dispatch in order to verify this. Orders including any bladed items will incur an additional courier age verification charge and legally require delivery to persons aged 18 and over.

Care Advice

Hand wash and dry well with a soft cloth immediately after use. Ensure the knife is never left sitting in wet conditions. High quality stainless steel knives will often include a high-carbon element, to increase performance. These kind of stainless steels are not 100% rust proof, and will require careful handling. A sharp knife is a safe knife — use a honing rod to keep a fine edge, and sharpen with a stone when necessary. Treat the wooden handle when necessary with a food safe mineral oil to keep the wood from drying out and prevent warping or splitting, which could result in the handle coming loose.
