Keyaki Shiro Santoku, Japanese Kitchen Knife

Keyaki Shiro Santoku, Japanese Kitchen Knife
£149.00
Ex Tax: £124.17

"Hand-forged by Master Blacksmith Keyaki Shiro in Japan. A very thin layer of Shirogami Steel is sandwiched between soft iron steel on both sides. After final quenching, the blade achieves an outstanding 62:64 HRC hardness and the ultra-thin, light blade cuts like a surgeon’s scalpel whilst being extremely easy to re-sharpen. This Santoku is a multi-functional knife used for the preparation of vegetables and precise cutting of meat and fish. This classic knife is a welcome addition to any starter or experienced user and will last a lifetime when properly cared for. The blade of this knife measures 16.5cm

By purchasing this item you are confirming that you are over the age of 18, and that we may contact you prior to dispatch in order to verify this. Orders including any bladed items will incur an additional courier age verification charge and legally require delivery to persons aged 18 and over."

Care Advice

Hand wash only, and never leave soaking. Dry immediately, followed with a light coating of camellia or a food safe mineral oil. Store in a dry environment to prevent rust formation. The hard steeled centre of this blade enables razor-thin sharpening, but results in a brittle edge. With this in mind, to prevent chips exceptional care should be taken to avoid bone-in meats such as legs of lamb and chicken thighs, and tough skinned vegetables such as gourds and pumpkins.
