Weed and root cutting sickle, hexagonal handle

Weed and root cutting sickle, hexagonal handle
£18.00
Ex Tax: £15.00
A small razor or sickle hoe with a very sharp and fine pointed hand forged carbon steel blade fixed to a hexagonal poplar wood handle which allows for a better, more comfortable, and less fatiguing grip. From Asano Mokkousho, of Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture Japan. An excellent small tool for cutting through roots and weeds in tight spaces, be that used similarly to a pull hoe, or else more aggressively point down amidst more stubborn growth. Also good for pulling weeds from among paving and joints in walls. Being carbon steel these can rust if left wet or stored damp, and are best lightly oiled if left for extended periods. With a blade of about 7.5cm and a handle of 21cm.
