Worcestershire willow tension tray / trivet

A simple but beautifully made trivet or tension tray, woven in Worcestershire by Sarah Loughlin using four varieties of willow: Flanders Red, Black Willow, Harrisons Seedling and Dicky Meadows. The willow is soaked and / or steamed before being painstakingly woven according to precise patterns. Willow baskets are sturdy and long-lasting, as long as they are kept dry and out of direct sunlight (which will fade the willow’s natural colours). Approximate diameter 23-25cm.
