A French made hornbeam tape measure modelled on an ancient and classic design. The tape is of a specially manufactured 1 metre cotton jacquard ribbon, is unwound by gently pulling on the terminal ring, and rewound by means of the small knob at the top or end of the body. The length is a little under a meter, the barrel measuring 2.5cm in diameter by 3.6 high, or about 5.5cm including the knob.
