A strong pruning knife with a deep and curved 7cm carbon steel blade, brass linings, and walnut scales. The handle is also lightly curved for a comfortable reverse grip, allowing the blade to be used against the thumb for the precise pruning of tough stringy green stems. Hand made in Sheffield by apprentice trained cutlers in the workshops of Arthur Wright and sons who for over 65 years have maintained and revived the traditional knife patterns of this noble city. Folded length, just over 10cm; open about 18cm.
This blade is made from carbon steel, which keeps a better edge than stainless, but will develop rust spots if left wet or kept damp and will naturally discolour in use — dry after use and oil regularly to keep it in good condition.
