Wooden smoking house, incense burner

A small wooden ski chalet, typically found at German Christmas fairs and used at this time for decoration and the burning of räucherkerzchen incense cones. To use the house is lifted away from the base a the cone placed centrally upon the circular steel ‘hearth’, lit, and the house carefully returned. For cones up to 30mm - our standard fir, myrrh, and sandalwood cones. Hand made for Apotheker Hermann Zwetz of Mohorn-Grund near the Ore mountains, possibly the longest established manufacturer of incense in Europe. About 8cm high.
