Kurume Kasuri Denim Pouch, Blue & White Yayopan Striped

A handsome striped denim pouch, with contrasting patterned borders, made with 100% cotton and a sturdy and durable weave. Useful as a pencil case, a general pouch, or a wash bag for makeup or shaving paraphernalia. Japanese denim is of particularly high quality, fabricated using natural indigo and traditional methods, resulting in a world-leading reputation. These useful pouches are from Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The name Kasuri is derived from the word kasureru, which roughly means ‘blurring’, describing the signature blurred effect of this fabric. The technique is recognised as an important, intangible folk cultural property of Japan and requires over thirty painstaking, handmade steps to achieve the final product. Measures 24cm x 16cm x 1.5cm.
