Finnish Woven Birch Shopper or Trug

A shopping basket or garden trug, hand woven in birch strips of between five and seven centimetres width using methods thought to have been in use throughout the Fennoscandian Peninsula since before recorded history. From a Finnish visually impaired workers cooperative. Measuring about 42cm front to back, 32cm across the handles and 30cm high, these are ideal for taking to the shops when buying groceries, or for household storage uses.
