A robust 22cm frying pan of the type often used in professional kitchens — with shallow tapered sides to aid the transfer of crepes or pancakes to plate, and a lighter weight than Turk's standard frying pans for easier handling / pancake flipping. Properly seasoned and prepared, this pan will develop a non-stick surface, and should last more than a lifetime with appropriate care.
During seasoning, the steel of the pan bonds to polymerised oil, forming a deep brown to black surface that acts as a natural non-stick coating which doesn't peel if over heated, self repairs if scratched (say by metal tools), and won't release novel chemicals into your food. From the company Albert Turk, who have specialised in the production and hand-forging of shovels, pans and other household goods since their founding by Karl Turk in 1857. The foundry is still family owned after six generations and 160 years of operation.
Made in Germany. Measures 22cm in diameter externally and 17cm internally with a depth of 2cm. The handle measures 18cm for a total length of 40cm.
