A fully nickel plated and mirror polished pair of high quality sewing scissors, made in Premana, Italy, by Fennek, one of this historical scissor-making town's oldest makers. Sartina translates as 'little seamstress' — these smaller, lighter sewing scissors are great for accurate cutting out, as well as the cutting of threads etc.
Drop forged in C50 carbon steel, the forged blanks are then Martensite hardened, making them strong, hard, and resistant to wear. The scissors are then expertly worked and assembled by a resident Regolatore (known as a 'Puttertogetherer' in the UK) before being plated with nickel, providing a protective layer that helps prevent rust and wear from friction. The handles go through several stages of grinding and polishing, while the blades are traditionally sharpened with hollow internal blades. Premana could be called Italy's equivalent to Sheffield in the UK or Solingen in Germany, home to the country's best makers of scissors and knives.
This pair of scissors measures 15.5cm, with blades of approximately 7cm in length. Avoid moisture, as these scissors can tarnish or rust if exposed. It is recommended that these scissors are stored in a dry place, and oiled occasionally if necessary.
