Made in Germany, this unique frying pan is freeform hot forged from a single piece of iron — creating a pan with unparalleled sturdiness and durability. A hooked end to the handle, formed with a forging hammer during this process, allows the pan to be hung from a rail or similar. Hand forging creates characteristic textures and hues on the pans surface — making each pan unique. These Iron pans have excellent thermal conductivity, and develop a natural non-stick surface which will only improve with use and proper seasoning. Initial seasoning with oil is required to begin the development of a non-stick surface and to protect the pan from elements that may cause rusting. From the company Albert Turk, who since their founding by Karl Turk in 1857, have specialised in hand-forging pans and other household goods. The foundry is still family owned after six generations and 160 years of operation. Hand wash and re-oil as necessary. It is also advisable to use a little more oil or fat than usual the first few times you use the pan, while the pan's seasoning develops. Measures 20cm in diameter externally and 13cm internally with a depth of 4cm. The handle itself measures 17cm for a total length of 37cm.
