A pair of high quality, mirror polished stainless steel kitchen and household scissors, made in Premana, Italy, by Fennek — one of this historical scissor-making town's oldest makers. These heavy duty multi-functional kitchen scissors have beautifully crafted bows, or handles, resulting in elevated comfort in use, even over longer periods.
Drop forged in AISI 420 stainless steel, the forged blanks are then hardened in a controlled atmosphere to a hardness of HRC 55-57, offering a balanced combination of edge retention and toughness. The scissors are then expertly worked and assembled by a resident Regolatore (known as a 'Puttertogetherer' in the UK) before being plated with nickel, providing a protective layer that helps prevent rust and wear from friction. The handles go through several stages of grinding and polishing, while the blades are traditionally sharpened with the pointed blade given a micr-serrated edge, and the rounded blade razor sharpened for improved penetration. Premana could be called Italy's equivalent to Sheffield in the UK or Solingen in Germany, home to the country's best makers of scissors and knives.
This pair of scissors measures 22cm, with blades of approximately 8cm in length. Dishwasher safe, although it is recommended that you remove at the end of the cycle and dry thoroughly to avoid staining caused by chlorine.
