I-Hada Bottle Opener, Waku (Frame)

I-Hada Bottle Opener, Waku (Frame)
£55.00
Ex Tax: £45.83
A sand-cast bottle opener from a foundry which began working in 1897 in the city of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. This Waku, or Frame design forms a simple linear frame, with a long handle for effective leverage. The cast shape is left
‘I-Hada' on the interior surfaces — with a raw cast surface maintaining any texture or dis-colouration drawn from the sand into which it
was poured, an expression of its solidity, manufacture, and uniqueness. Outer surfaces are polished to a high finish. Designed by Oji Masanori. About 140mm x 20mm x 15mm deep.
